Apple Bluetooth keyboard has a memory?

Here’s something I wasn’t expecting. Yesterday I used my Apple Bluetooth keyboard with my iPad to work on some writing projects. I used keyboard shortcuts to copy a big block of text at the end of my writing session.

Today I moved the keyboard back to my Macbook Pro. While attempting to copy something on the laptop, I absentmindedly hit cmd-v — to my surprise, the big block of text I’d copied on my iPad yesterday appeared.

Does the Apple Bluetooth keyboard have a memory?
